NIST Invites Applications for the 2015 Standards Services Curricula Development Program

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is offering financial support for the development of undergraduate and graduate-level curricula that integrate standards and standardization information and content into seminars, learning resources and courses. Accredited institutions of higher education, both nonprofit and commercial organizations; and state, local and Indian tribal governments located in the United States and its territories are eligible.

"Supporting the integration of standards and standardization into U.S. college curricula is one of the ways NIST supports U.S. innovation and competitiveness. It is vital to introduce the next generation to the importance of standards and standardization in the global economy," says Gordon Gillerman, acting director of NIST's Standards Coordination Office.

NIST anticipates funding approximately two to eight projects in the $25,000 to $75,000 range. Projects are anticipated to run up to 18 months. Complete details on the Standards Services Curricula Development Cooperative Agreement Program, including eligibility and the application and proposal processes are available on Grants.gov under Federal Funding Opportunity 2015-NIST-SSCD-01.

In 2014, NIST awarded six such grants totaling over $400,000. Applications for this year's grants must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday, April 13, 2015.
