When an OSAC Subcommittee has identified a need for a standard or guideline (or other related document) and has determined that such a document does not already exist in published form, the Subcommittee begins the OSAC Working With a Standard Developing Organization (SDO) Process. This is the process utilized when a Subcommittee has identified a need for a brand new standard or guideline, or would like to update an existing standard or guideline. The process facilitates the steps necessary for the OSAC to develop standards and guidelines through a voluntary consensus process.
Below are the documents, instructions, and templates that are used during the OSAC Working with an SDO Process. These documents describe the process OSAC units must follow when working with an SDO to develop standards and guidelines.
