SSCP Analysis of Point Mutations by Multi-Color Capillary Electrophoresis

November 1, 1999
Author(s)
K Hayashi, H M. Wenz, M Inazuka, T Tahira, Donald H. Atha
Virtually all methods for the detection of mutations (polymorphism or variant) rely on polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Direct sequence determination of a PCR product is the gold standard for identifying mutaions. However, the vast majority of the signal

Analysis of Environmentally Induced DNA Damage by Capillary Electrophoresis

September 1, 1999
Author(s)
Z E. Nackerdien, B Siles, S Nivens, Donald H. Atha
Chemical pollutants, ionizing radiation, the products of aerobic metabolism and UV light are important metabolic and environmental factors contributing to DNA damage. Ionizing radiation, in paticular, induces damage in the form of single strand breaks

Detection of p53 Gene Mutation: Analysis by Single-Strand Conformation Polymorphism and Cleavase Fragment Length Polymorphism

June 1, 1999

We have generated a collection of clones containing single point mutations within the exon 5-9 hot spot regions of the p53 gene by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify select regions of the gene from characterized cell lines. These clones were
