Abstract

The pressure and Vacuum Group at NIST has piloted a pressure comparison under the auspices of the Measurement comparison program committee for the NCSL. A 1.4 MPa (~200 psi)transducer package used as a transfer standard was circulated among 20 domestic calibration laboratories (private and public). The participants were asked to provide two gage pressure readings (in addition to zero) on two transducers for the comparison. After transducer drift is removed, the results are compared and expressed as deviations from the NIST results. Several participating laboratories, values differed from the NIST values by more than 300 ppm.
