Complex Permittivity Measurements of Common Plastics over Variable Temperatures

Abstract

In this paper we present complex permittivity data at macorwave frequencies for many common plastics from 125 K to 375 K. The measurements were made using a TE01δ dielectric resonator placed inside an environmental chamber. Data are presented for the following materials: acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polytetrafluoroethylene, cross-linked polystyrene, tetrafluorethylene-perfluorpropylene, polysulfone, polymethylmethacrylate, polyvinylchloride, polycarbonate, high-density polyethylene, polyoxy-methylene (acetal homopolymer) and nylon.
