Taekyung Kim is a Guest Researcher in the Microsystems and Nanotechnology Division, Physical Measurement Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Gyeongsang National University and an integrated M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University, Korea. His doctoral research focused on developing a durable metallic surface with highly ordered hierarchical structures for drag-reduction and anti-biofouling. His research interests include micro/nanofabrications for applications to surface characterization, micro-optics, and nanophotonics. Taekyung Kim is working with Dr. Jason Gorman developing a MEMS scanning tunneling microscope that can operate in large arrays.
