John A. Wamsley

John A. Wamsley is an engineering technician in the HVAC&R Equipment Performance Group of the Energy and Environment Division (EED) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Mr. Wamsley joined the Thermal Machinery Group as an Mechanical Engineering Technician at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in 1994. His accomplishments for the Division are Management of all Equipment and Instrumentation, Calibration, Testing, and Data Handling, Equipment Installation and Modifications, and Institutional Health and Safety. Mr. Wamsley is the Division's safety representative from 1994 through the present. Mr. Wamsley is safety representative for SOC Safety Operations Committee for NIST. Prior to that, Mr. Wamsley worked as a Technician in the Plant Division Air-Conditioning Shop. He uses his refrigeration experience to maintain and operate the environmental chambers for the Energy and Environment Division. Mr. Wamsley also assists the engineers and scientists in the construction and operation of test rigs for cycle and heat transfer research. He also operates and repairs 7 Content Temperature Lab 4, 20 Ton Chillers. Mr. Wamsley is currently taking classes at Montgomery College to enhance is current expertise.
