Doris L. Rinehart
Doris L. Rinehart is an electronics technician in the National Fire Research Laboratory (NFRL) of the Fire Research Division (FRD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Rinehart joined NIST in 1993 as an electronics technician with the Research Facility Operations group of the NCNR. She joined the Building and Fire Research Laboratory (BFRL) in 2007 as an electronics technician in the Large Fire Lab (LFL) where she currently works. Ms. Rinehart is responsible for operating the fire measurement data acquisition systems including the large fire heat release rate calorimeters. She installs, maintains, repairs and implements quality controls for the measurement instrumentation in the LFL including paramagnetic and infrared gas analyzers, gas chromatography, and thermal measurement transducers. Ms. Rinehart implements maintenance and repair of the LFL exhaust gas emissions control system. Her current duties also include the development of project and workspace hazard assessment and safety plans, the maintenance of LFL safety equipment and the LFL chemical inventory. Ms. Rinehart has supported the setup and implementation of numerous large scale fire experimental test series in the LFL including DHS Wind Driven Fires, CPSC Mattress Flammability, STRS Under-ventilated Compartment Fires, NRC Electrical Cable Tray Fires, USFS Wild-land Tree Fires, DOT Motorcoach Flammability.
