Wood Testing

The NVLAP program for Wood-Based Products provides for laboratory accreditation to ensure that standard test procedures are followed when testing wood-based products for chemical, physical, mechanical, fire performance, formaldehyde, and treated-wood characteristics. The WBP Program accredits laboratories that use standard test methods from the American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), APA–The Engineered Wood Association (APA), ASTM International, American Wood Preservers’ Association (AWPA), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), European Committee for Standardization (CEN), Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Association (HPVA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the Composite Panel Association (CPA), and other recognized test methods.
