Abstract

Interoperability is the ability of systems or software applications to communicate with each other. Interoperability testing verifies that systems can work together based on a standard protocol in an operational environment. This paper introduces an interoperability test system for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1451.5-802.11 standard. This system consists of a Standard Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) and a Standard Wireless Transducer Interface Module (WTIM) developed based on the IEEE 1451.5-802.11 standard. A test case of reading transducer data is provided to verify the interoperability between the Standard NCAP and the Standard WTIM.
