This document specifies specifies the components of an industrial data standard; the roles played by these components; the software technologies used to represent the components; and the way in which components are shared or harmonized between different industrial data standards. The components include technical dictionaries, process models, ontologies, data models, service models, and the mappings and traces that provide links between the different components. The architecture is referred to informally as IDIOM (Industrial Data Integrated Ontologies and Models).
