AWARD CITATION

The group is recognized for revising the safety culture within the OFPM Gaithersburg Facilities Maintenance Division resulting in significant improvements in the safety record of the division. By developing a program that included a personal connection between safety staff and supervisors and facilities staff through in-person safety training and mentoring in addition to computer-based training, and adding safety talks to weekly "tool box" talks, the group changed the safety culture within the division.
