Dr. Ye is recognized for numerous innovations in laser technology and applications, enabling new precision measurements, new products, and new fundamental scientific explorations. A partial list of his innovations include the world's most stable laser, the world's most accurate atomic clock, new precision chemical spectroscopy techniques, and a new tabletop extreme ultraviolet laser much brighter than light from billion-dollar electron accelerator sources. Dr. Ye transfers his technologies through formal intellectual property development, but most effectively through training more than 100 students and postdocs who apply and extend his innovations in industry, universities, and across NIST.
