Relocation and Expansion Project Helps Premier Custom Foods with Their Growth

With the help of: Kansas Manufacturing Solutions

About

Premier Custom Foods LLC is a small, high growth food manufacturing company located in Kansas City, Kansas, providing value-added food processing to customize chicken, beef, pork and specialty packaged products for distribution to clients in the United States.

The Challenge

The company was formed in January 2015 and experienced high growth right from the start. They initially located in an 8,000 square foot building operating with 65 employees.  Due to their rapid growth and need for increased capacity to meet the demands, a new building at least 4 times the size of their current building was needed immediately to accommodate food processing operations, warehousing, refrigerated/freezer space and an additional 70 employees.  Premier started meeting with numerous financial institutions to finance the investment and was met with continual resistance due to their “start-up” status and a company without 3 years of financial records.
It was an exciting time for our small food manufacturing company to experience such great growth, but at the same time, it was an extremely challenging process.  Without the continued assistance of WYEDC and KMS to see our project through, the outcome may have been very different.
— Patrick Williams, Vice President
