IATF Assistance Retains Jobs

About

Donaldson was founded in 1915 when Frank Donaldson helped a customer whose tractor kept breaking down in a dusty Minnesota field by developing a filter to filter out the dust. Today, Donaldson holds over 1,800 active U.S. and international patents with employees in 44 countries supporting customers around the world. The Greeneville, Tennessee, facility focuses primarily on intake filters for the heavy truck industry.

The Challenge

The company is required by their automotive customers as a condition of continued business to maintain IATF-16949:2016 certification. Donaldson contacted the TN MEP, part of the MEP National Network™, for assistance with IATF Internal Auditor Training and auditing practice.

The training received from the Center for Industrial Services was some of the best IATF internal auditor training that I have seen conducted. The individuals that participated in the training gained a lot of knowledge concerning the technical standards, how to prepare for an internal audit and conduct the audit. They were well informed on the core tools used and the customer specific requirements that are utilized during the audit process. The training was second to none and I will be using them for additional training soon.

— Jeremy Weems, Quality and Engineering Manager

MEP's Role

TN MEP assisted Donaldson Company Incorporated with their upgrade to the IATF-16949:2016 automotive quality systems standard and helped prepare them to be ready for their Registrar Audit to become certified. The assistance provided included evaluating legacy processes with the IATF-16949:2016 standard to identify gaps that needed to be addressed. TN MEP staff then coached the company through the implementation of the new processes.
