Division Chief for National Platforms

As Division Chief for National Platforms, Mary Ann provides leadership to build and implement a Learning Organization including management of Communities of practice, working groups and learning management platform.  The National Platforms Division also executes and researches current and future trends of manufacturing with particular focus on the needs and barriers to adoption of the SME market such as supply chain gaps, workforce development and other critical areas identified in the current strategic plan.  The Platform Division is the NIST MEP lead to establish and maintain significant strategic alliances with state and local government agencies and legislatures, other federal agencies, and manufacturing-related research organizations, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and trade associations to support U.S. manufacturers.  Mary Ann has been at NIST MEP for 8 years, as Division chief for Strategic Competitions and Network Learning, and also was the Program Manager of Workforce Development, at the NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).   Her work included advocating for manufacturing workforce priorities with related federal agencies and providing technical support to the network of MEP Centers across the country and in Puerto Rico for workforce related activities. 

Previously Mary Ann was Assistant Director for Workforce and Talent Development at MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network), an Ohio MEP affiliate Center leading efforts for new business development and the delivery of training and consulting services to area manufacturers designed to improve performance of the organization.  In addition, Mary Ann directed activities to access federal, regional and local funding for projects related to developing a stronger manufacturing workforce pipeline in Ohio.  Ms. Pacelli’s experience in Workforce Development began with Cuyahoga Community College’s Corporate Services Division in Cleveland Ohio.  For over 28 years, Ms. Pacelli has served numerous manufacturing businesses by assessing their needs and designing and delivering customized programs to improve employee performance.

Mary Ann earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University and a Master in Education in Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University.
