Application Process

The Summer Institute is a two-week workshop for middle school science teachers featuring hands-on activities, lectures, tours, and visits with NIST scientists and engineers in their laboratories. Dates: July 8-19, 2019.

Application deadline: Applications must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, Friday, May 10, 2019.  Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed or considered.

Note to teachers: Applications must be submitted through your school district or private school administration. Applications from individual teachers will not be accepted.
