  1. mixFeed Specification

    https://csrc.nist.gov/CSRC/media/Projects/lightweight-cryptography/documents/round-2/spec-doc-rnd2/mixFeed-spec-round2.pdf
mixFeed Designers/Submitters: Bishwajit Chakraborty - Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata Mridul Nandi - Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India bishu.math.ynwa@gmail.com mridul.nandi@gmail.com September 21, 2019 1 1 Introduction In this document, we propose a new scheme for authenticated encryption with associated data (AEAD) based on AES’128/128 [7] block cipher. Here, we introduce a new mode which we call Minimally Xored Feedback mode (mixFeed) based on any block cipher with some involved key-scheduling algorithm. Our mode (on top of the n-bit block cipher) requires only n-bit xor to process each n-bit blocks. The name can also be justified for the fact that we use a mixture of Plaintext and Ciphertext as the feedback to the underlying blockcipher. Another aspect of the mixFeed is that, we use nonce-dependent key. This would help to get higher security beyond conventional model (such as reas...

xiv Introduction quantities to be extracted from solubil1ty data. Both these are diff1cult to achieve in many cases because of a lack of experimental or theoretical 1nformation concern1ng act1v1ty coeff1c1ents. Where thermodynamic quantit1es can be found, they are not evaluated cr1t1cally, since th1S task would 1nvolve cr1tical evaluation of a large body of data that 1S not d1rectly relevant to solubility. The following is an outline of the pr1nc1pal thermodynam1c relations encountered in discuSS10ns of solubility. The mode of Elephant is a nonce-based encrypt-then-MAC construction, where encryption is performed using counter mode and message authentication using a variant of the Wegman-Carter-Shoup [10,82,92] MAC function. Both modes internally use a cryptographic permutation masked using LFSRs, akin to the masked Even- Mansour construction of Granger et al. [49]. The mode is permutation-based and only evaluates this permutation in the forward dir...
