I. Introduction Program slicing is a family of program decomposition techniques based on extracting state- ments relevant to a computation in a program. Program slicing as originally defined produces a smaller program that reproduces a subset of the original program’s behavior [16]. This is advan- tageous since, by excluding irrelevant statements, the slice can collect an algorithm that may be scattered throughout a program.
