Purpose

  Verify that a host properly discards an invalid Router Advertisement.

Resource Requirements

  * Packet generator
  * Monitor to capture packets

Test Setup

  No Common Test Setup is performed. Wait at least 3 seconds
  (MAX_MULTICAST_SOLICIT * RETRANS_TIMER) after any previous cleanup to make sure all
  previous NCE's are in state No NCE. The Common Test Cleanup procedure is performed after each
  part.

Procedure

  Part C: Invalid Checksum
   9. TR1 transmits the Router Advertisement. The ICMP Checksum is invalid. The Router
      Advertisement is valid otherwise.
  10. Wait (RETRANS_TIMER * MAX_*CAST_SOLICIT). (3 seconds)
  11. TR1 transmits a link-local Echo Request to the HUT.
  12. Wait 2 seconds and observe the packets transmitted by the HUT.

Observable Results

   Parts A-F
     In all parts, the HUT should transmit a multicast Neighbor Solicitation for TR1, indicating
     the HUT did not have a NCE for TR1.
