Purpose

  Verify that a router sends correct Router Advertisements when its interface ceases to be an
  advertising interface.

Resource Requirements

Test Setup

  No Common Test Setup is performed. The Common Test Cleanup procedure is
  performed after each part.

Procedure

  1. Configure Interface A on the RUT to be an advertising interface.
  2. Configure Interface A on the RUT to discontinue be an advertising interface.
  3. Observe the packets transmitted by the RUT on Interface A.

Observable Results

  Step 3:
  The RUT should transmit no more than MAX_FINAL_RTR_ADVERTISEMENTS (3) final
  multicast Router Advertisement on the interface with a Router Lifetime field of zero.
