Call for Volunteers for 2022 Portrait Gallery Jury

SAA members and other former NBS/NIST employees who are not current NIST employees are encouraged to volunteer for the 2022 Portrait Gallery Jury. All are eligible except those who have served on all of the last three juries. The Jury will meet in late April.

To volunteer for the 2022 Portrait Gallery Jury, please send your name and contact information (address, telephone, and email) to the SAA Portrait Gallery Committee at portrait_gallery [at] standardsalumni.org and bjlide [at] gmail.com no later than March 8, 2022. Please note that prior contact information for the SAA Office (Room A-42 Admin, Mail Stop 0952, NIST, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0952, telephone 301-975-2486, email alumni [at] nist.gov) is currently not operational.

The SAA Portrait Gallery Committee, after closure of the 2022 nomination process, will propose, for approval of the SAA Board, a balanced jury of retired scientists, engineers and administrators (of both programmatic and support organizational units), with expertise in areas in which nominations were received, and with fewer than two-thirds continuing from the 2021 jury.

The 2022 Portrait Gallery Jury will evaluate nominations for the NIST Portrait Gallery and recommend no more than 10 nominees to the NIST Director.

The Portrait Gallery process is described in the Call for Nominations and Instructions for Nominations, which are published in the December 2021 SAA Newsletter, sent to OU directors, and posted on the SAA website.
