Where are we going next? We’re going to the IoT Evolution Expo!
The NIST Cybersecurity for IoT Program will be at the IoT Evolution Expo next week – and we want to hear from you! Join us on Monday, January 22 for a discussion on IoT Security and Privacy Risk Considerations.
This event is part of our ongoing effort to engage stakeholders on IoT-specific capabilities and associated risks. Anyone interested in attending the session should review the discussion draft on our proposed approach. We also look forward to catching up and engaging with industry during the week in the exhibit hall.
NIST is preparing guidance to help federal agencies manage IoT security and privacy risks. This guidance aims to take a practical approach to IoT security and privacy risk management. Overall, NIST’s Cybersecurity for IoT Program works toward developing standards, guidelines, and related tools to improve the cybersecurity of connected devices and the environments in which they are deployed.
Earlier this month we had a session with industry at the Consumer Electronics Show and received a lot of valuable feedback on the direction to take when composing this guidance. Even if you can’t make it to the IoT Evolution Expo we would like to hear from you – email your feedback on the discussion draft, your thoughts on the topic, and collaboration ideas to email@example.com.
The Cybersecurity for IoT Program has also released a workshop proceedings from the colloquium held in October 2017. The colloquium brought together industry, government, academic, and other stakeholders to understand relevant security and privacy concerns and threats. Almost 200 people were in attendance, either in person or via teleconference, to hear from a range of speakers on different IoT issues. The proceedings can be found here.
Can’t wait to talk about #IoTSecurityNIST and #NISTprivacy with you!
