Welcome tech editors! Technical editing includes two parts; the first encompasses a high-level review of the draft scorebook and communication between the technical editor and the team leader. The second part encompasses a thorough quality check of the final scorebook.
As a technical editor, you will ensure that the content of one or more Consensus Review Scorebooks is correct. The scorebook is then checked for grammar and style. The end result is a feedback report for an award applicant—a key customer product of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.
Below are links to several tech-editing job aids. If you are having difficulty with the PowerPoint file formats, this Microsoft Office chart may be helpful.
Reminder: Feedback comments should consist of
- A concise opening sentence that expresses a single thought—the "nugget"
- One or two examples
- The relevance or importance of the nugget to the applicant
