Dr. Richard N. Spivack is an economist for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Technology Innovation Program (TIP) located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Dr. Spivack is a member of the Selection Management Office where he applies his knowledge of economics, societal impact and technology to evaluate areas of critical national need and proposals for funding.
Dr. Spivack has authored a number of papers and publications on the role of the federal government in the healthcare information technology industry.
Dr. Spivack received his M.A. degree from the University of Rhode Island and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. His areas of expertise include Urban/Regional Economics, Health Care Economics, and Public Finance.
