In 1979 he began working as a computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, formerly the National Bureau of Standards, first in the Computer Science Laboratory and then from 1984 to 1991 in the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory. In 1992, he became a program manager in the NIST Advanced Technology Program. Dr. Boudreaux has published over fifty technical papers and edited three books. His research has focused primarily in the following areas: programming language environments for automated manufacturing; adaptive control and real-time error compensation systems; and intelligent manufacturing systems.

Technology areas:

Automated Manufacturing
Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Technology
Microsystems Technology
Theoretical Computer Science
