Douglas (Doug) Bischoff is currently a Chemist and Project Manager in the Project Management Office within the Technology Innovation Program (TIP) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He serves as a technical manager as well as a business specialist for projects involving both chemistry/materials and life sciences. Prior to TIP, he served as both technical and business specialist in the Life Sciences Group within the Chemistry and Life Sciences Office of the Advanced Technology Program (ATP) at NIST.

Prior to joining NIST, Mr. Bischoff was Corporate Administrator for Diversified Controls & Systems, Inc., a small electrical/pneumatic manufacturer, where he wore several hats-- from environmental monitoring to human resources administration to marketing and financial management. He also interfaced with environmental, glass and ceramics scientists for development and promotion of a new technology project for the company. He preceded that with several years of experience as Operations Director for Daily Analytical Laboratories, a laboratory providing environmental analysis to government agencies, large and small corporations, consulting firms and individuals. Mr. Bischoff utilized his chemistry knowledge and experience to provide the leadership and management of several chemists developing appropriate methodology and standards of quality needed to serve the laboratory’s clients. Prior to those positions he spent several years as an Analytical Chemist in different environmental and toxicological analysis research arenas.

Mr. Bischoff earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
