Webinars on Planning for Smart Grid Panel Announced

Steps to form the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) are proceeding toward the SGIP’s launch in Denver, on Nov. 16, at the beginning of Grid-Interop 2009.

A series of one-hour SGIP Updates has been scheduled to advise the diverse Smart Grid community on plans and progress toward the establishment of the SGIP. This panel is being created to provide a more permanent structure and process—with stakeholder representation—to support the ongoing evolution of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) initial Framework and Roadmap for Smart Grid Interoperability Standards, released as a draft for public comment on Sept. 24, 2009.

Objectives of the updates are to inform interested parties of plans and recent progress, review feedback received thus far, and identify issues requiring special attention.

We invite all those interested to participate on these calls as part of an ongoing dialog to ensure that we form the most effective organization possible.
