Where Do The Data Come From?
The ATP uses a variety of tools to measure the progress of its
projects and programs. Chief among these are in-depth surveys and
economic case studies, generally conducted by private-sector researchers
under contract to the ATP. Beginning with the 1993 awards, the ATP also
collects data through an automated "quarterly report" system designed to
provide ongoing economic data on ATP projects while minimizing the
paperwork load on participating companies.
Statistics cited in this report are drawn from the following primary
sources:
- The Advanced Technology Program, An Assessment of Short-Term
Impacts: First Competition Participants. Solomon Associates, February
1993.
