EIGHT AT NIST RECEIVE CRITTENDEN AWARD

Eight local employees at the National Institute of Standards and Technology have been recognized for outstanding achievements in providing support to the institute’s scientific and technical programs. They are:

Gregory A. Pittman, Maintenance Worker, Administration;

Carolyn L. Diehl, Accounting Technician, Office of the Chief Financial Officer;

Robert E. Stull, Firefighter, Administration;

Lisa M. Shell, Computer Assistant, Administration;

Frederick B. Zeigler, Security Assistant, Administration;

David E. Springirth, Insulator, Administration;

Berman L. Woodson, Automotive Mechanic, Administration; and

Robert E. Wangness, Planner Estimator, Administration.

Each was presented with the Eugene Casson Crittenden Award, which recognizes permanent employees who perform supporting services that have a significant impact on technical programs beyond their own offices. The award, established in 1967, is named after a former associate director of NIST who had a special interest in gaining recognition for such contributions.

An agency of the Commerce Department's Technology Administration, NIST promotes economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements and standards.
