Museum and History
Historical information about NIST is collected in the NIST Museum, located at the entrance to the NIST Research Library on the Gaithersburg, Md., campus. It contains numerous artifacts and displays about past research at NIST and its predecessor, the National Bureau of Standards (NBS). In addition to the physical collection, NIST has a Virtual Museum, which permits researchers and the public to learn about the history of NIST and NBS via the Internet.
