NIST maintains a comprehensive, international collection of information
in the physical sciences, engineering, metrology, mathematics, and computer
science. NIST's research consultants, librarians, writers, editors, printing
specialists, and online publishing experts work to assist researchers
with all of their information needs, drawing on resources that include
the Research Library as well as programs in Electronic Information and

Museum
and History
Historical information about NIST is collected in the NIST
Museum, located at the entrance to the NIST Research Library on the Gaithersburg,
Md., campus. It contains numerous artifacts and displays about past research
at NIST and its predecessor, the National Bureau of Standards (NBS). In
addition to the physical collection, NIST has a Virtual
Museum, which permits
researchers and the public to learn about the history of NIST and NBS via
the Internet.
