| The Center for Advanced
Research in Biotechnology was established in 1984 as a cooperative venture of the
University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, the National Institute of Standards and
Technology, and Montgomery County, Md. Its world-class laboratory facilities in
Rockville, Md., are shared by federal, academic, and industry researchers. CARB has about
70 staff members, most of whom are researchers in the fields of crystallography, molecular
biology, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, physical biochemistry, and computational
modeling. |
