The audience is composed of mathematicians, engineers, metrologists, scientists, laboratory technicians, educators, managers, and planners who need to know about precise timing, low phase-noise oscillators or amplifiers, calibrations, or traceability. It is particularly appropriate for those who are or might be responsible for specifying or measuring oscillator or timing performance.
Format:
Seminar.
Purpose:
Expert lecturers will teach fundamentals in time and frequency metrology and provide a forum for your questions and problems involving time and frequency applications.
Topics:
New topics for 2008 include – Lectures on low noise optical oscillators; oscillator and amplifier arrays; PM-noise reduction techniques; chip-scale atomic sensors; improvements and alternatives to GPS; and low-noise frequency synthesis using femtosecond-comb lasers.

Course registration fee: $1700

Fee includes lecture materials, continental breakfasts, lunches, refreshments, and a Wednesday evening reception.
