32nd Annual
Time and Frequency Metrology Seminar

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
Boulder, CO

June 12-15, 2007
Sponsors:
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
Audience:
The audience is composed of mathematicians, engineers, metrologists, scientists, laboratory technicians, educators, managers, and planners who need to know about precise timing, low phase-noise oscillators or amplifiers, calibrations, or traceability. It is particularly appropriate for those who are or might be responsible for specifying or measuring oscillator or timing performance.
Format:
Seminar.
Purpose:
Expert lecturers will teach fundamentals in time and frequency metrology and provide a forum for your questions and problems involving time and frequency applications.
Topic:
New topics for 2007 include - Lectures on chip-scale atomic clocks; improvements and alternatives to GPS; low noise optical oscillators; oscillator and amplifier arrays; PM-noise reduction techniques; and low-noise frequency synthesis using femtosecond-comb lasers.

Also - Time and frequency data analysis; instrumentation for frequency, time, and phase noise measurements; theory of operation of quartz oscillators, CS and Rb standards, and new optical domain oscillators; prediction methodologies; verifying traceability and calibrations; use of GPS; NIST calibrations services.
