As part of the NIST Centennial celebration, a Gala is planned to bring together NIST staff and the business, scientific, and technical communities that have benefited from NIST research and measurement services over the years. The event will highlight NIST’s contributions to industry and the U.S. economy, recognize members of the NIST family, and recognize those in the private sector who have supported NIST.

When: Tuesday, March 6, 2001, 7 - 10 p.m.
Where: Atrium of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center
1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
(across from Department of Commerce; right on Federal Triangle Metro stop)
Attire: Black tie optional (jacket and tie, business suit, or black tie tuxedo for men; dressy, cocktail, or evening dress for women)
Events: Brief ceremonial presentations by key officials
Brief presentations of Centennial plaques
Elegant dinner in a beautiful setting
Cash bar
Music by the Jazz Ensemble of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts
