Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road Reporters are invited to attend the Quest for Excellence Conference to learn about the exceptional practices and results of the 2001 winners of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, including the first in education-Chugach School District (Anchorage, Alaska), Pearl River School District (Pearl River, New York) and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Also featured are the 2001 Baldrige Award business winners-Pal's Sudden Service, the first in the restaurant industry, and Clarke American Checks, Inc. The first day (9:10 a.m., Marriott Ballroom) of the conference will include a discussion by senior leaders on how each organization addresses public responsibility and citizenship, one of the Baldrige Award's 11 core values. Throughout the three-day conference, senior leaders and others from each of the five 2001 Baldrige Award recipients will give presentations and answer questions about their best practices and lessons learned on their journey to performance excellence.
