Luminescence Standards for Chemical Analysis |
|
|
The National Institute of Standards and Technology will hold a workshop on "Luminescence Standards for Chemical Analysis," Sept. 8-9, 1999, in Gaithersburg, Md. Luminescent labels are being used with increasing frequency to analyze a wide variety of chemical compounds of interest in biotechnological, chemical and materials industries. Due to the popularity of fluorescent methods, NIST has been receiving requests for new types of fluorescence standards. The purpose of the NIST workshop is to determine where there is greatest demand for fluorescence standards in chemical analysis and who will be the key players in manufacturing and purchasing these standards. Fluorescence instrument manufacturers and users, and standards suppliers are encouraged to attend the workshop. Further details on the workshop are available on the World Wide Web at www.cstl.nist.gov/nist839. For technical information on the workshop, contact Paul DeRose by calling (301) 975- 4572 or sending e-mail to paul.derose@nist.gov. For registration information, contact Teresa Vicente by calling (301) 975-3883 or sending e-mail to teresa.vicente@nist.gov.
