Vice President to Join Commerce Secretary Evans in Presenting 2002 Baldrige AwardsFirst-Ever Winner in Health Care Category to Receive AwardFor Immediate Release: May 19, 2003
Vice President Dick Cheney will join Commerce Secretary Don Evans in presenting the 2002 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest honor for performance excellence and quality achievement, to three U.S. organizations, including the first-ever winner in the health care category. The 2002 Baldrige Award winners are: Motorola Commercial, Government and Industrial Solutions Sector (Schaumburg, Ill., manufacturing), Branch-Smith Printing Division (Ft. Worth, Texas, small business), and SSM Health Care (St. Louis, Mo., health care). Check-in: Check-in for news media starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. at the registration table in the Lower Level Foyer. News media must show a badge with photo or a photo ID with a business card to gain admission to the ceremony.
