Research Programs:

The AC-DC Project has several active research programs intended to advance the state of the art in ac-dc difference metrology and ac and dc voltage metrology. these research project include:

  • The design and fabrication of multijunction thermal converters based on thin-film technology
  • The development of the world's first practical quantum ac source and the dissemination of quantum-based ac voltage
  • The investigation of new shunts for 100 A broadband ac current measurements
  • The investigation of inductive voltage dividers for high-voltage scaling
  • The development of an ac-dc transfer standards based on a superconducting transition-edge sensor
