ID.me, Inc.

The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) pilots address barriers to the Identity Ecosystem and seed the marketplace with “NSTIC-aligned” solutions to enhance privacy, security and convenience in online transactions.

The ID.me pilot has focused on expanding the number and use of NSTIC-aligned credentials in the Identity Ecosystem. ID.me has developed identity solutions like Troop ID that give military families online access to sensitive information and discounts from hundreds of commercial, government, and non-profit entities in a privacy-enhancing, secure, and efficient manner. Building business and technical policies, the ID.me pilot has also worked to educate the public and private sectors on the benefits of accepting NSTIC-aligned, third-party credentials. Today, more than a million consumers use ID.me credentials, and the U.S. General Services Administration has certified ID.me at level of assurance 3 as a credential service provider for citizens accessing federal sites via Connect.Gov.
