2011 NIST Workshop on Neutron Measurements to Advance the Manufacture of Soft Materials

Registration is now open!!

Objective:  To identify critical challenges facing manufacturers of soft materials that are best addressed through development and application of neutron-based measurement science.

Motivation: To develop the next generation of neutron-based measurement solutions for manufacturing of soft materials, the NIST Polymers Division and the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) are building the nSoft consortium. nSoft will provide a new model of federal user facility access to manufacturing based industry, with a specific focus on manufacturers of soft materials.  The "2011 NIST Workshop on Neutron Measurements to Advance the Manufacture of Soft Materials" represents an opportunity for manufacturers and other participants of soft materials research to identify key areas where development of neutron techniques will have a maximal impact on manufacturing and competitiveness of US based industry.

Participants: This meeting is open for public discussion. Registration for the meeting is required using the link provided on this page. Participants are encouraged from all participants interested in developing advanced neutron-based measurement methods and capabilities related to the manufacture of soft materials, including polymers, basic chemical formulations, petroleum based manufacturing, consumer products, and pharmaceuticals.
