The Materials Performance Group

  • develops new and improved models, test methods and standards to accurately measure mechanical properties of advanced materials, such as high strength steel and aluminum alloys, as well as of conventional materials under both expected and extreme environmental conditions;
  • generates and disseminates reliable mechanical property data;
  • standardizes, both nationally and internationally, mechanical property test methods.
