NIST has awarded a contract to the National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to administer a NIST NRC American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) postdoctoral research program, which will be in addition to the regular NRC Postdoctoral program. This new program will be supported using Recovery Act funds and is intended to award up to 45 NIST NRC ARRA postdoctoral associateships over the term of the 5-year contract. The NIST NRC ARRA postdoctoral associates under this program will come to NIST as guest researchers and be paid by the NRC. Applicants are required to have U.S. citizenship, and the length of the postdoctoral associateship will remain a maximum of two years. The majority of the Postdoctoral Associateship Awards are expected to be made through two competitions with November 2, 2009, and May 3, 2010, deadlines. The application website is now available on the NRC Research Associateships Program site, and the link can be found here. In order to complete your application, you must identify a research opportunity and advisor to apply under. To learn more about research opportunities and and advisors in MSEL, please see our research opportunities page. Applicants are strongly encouraged to notify potential advisors of their intention to submit an application. If you have any questions about the new program, please contact Susan Zeisler (szeisler@nist.gov) or Claire Saundry (csaundry@nist.gov). |
