Jeff Davis began his career at NIST in 2000 as a summer student. Throughout both his bachelor's and master's degree program in Civil Engineering, he continued to work as a summer research student, developing a knowledge and understanding of X-ray microanalysis. In graduate school he combined his interests in cement/concrete research with his knowledge of X-ray microanalysis in order to develop innovative techniques for research in the durability of concrete pavements. As of 2006, he was hired as a materials research engineer, and has since worked to develop the technique of milli X-ray fluorescence (mXRF). |
