Research Interests: My research focuses on design and characterization of freeform fabricated scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. I will compare stem cell differentiation over 2D and 3D dimensional tissue engineering scaffolds.
Background: I worked as a post doctoral fellow with Dr. Dale W. Schaefer in at University of Cincinnati, where my research focus was to regulate cell-sheet release for treatment of infarcted hearts. Prior to that, I received my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Cincinnati. My Ph.D. research advisor was Dr. Chia-Chi Ho and I worked on the development of novel cell patterning techniques that integrate cell biology, polymer science and microelectronic principles.
Honors and Awards: University Graduate Scholarship, University of Cincinnati (2002-2008) Summer Research Fellowship, University of Cincinnati (2006) Ravi Shanker fellowship, University of Cincinnati (2003)
Other than Science: I love sports, especially cricket, NFL and NCAA football. My favorite teams are the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Bearcats. |
