Providing administrative support at the Group and Division Level

Secretary for the Thin Film and Nanostructure Processing Group. Activities include:

  • Liaison between Group Leader and Group personnel (Staff/Guest Researcher)
  • Liaison between visitors, customers, and the general public and corresponding Group personnel
  • Administrative guidance and information
  • Documentation of administrative actions according to NIST/Division procedures and policies employing NIST Administrative Systems
  • Purchasing arrangements
  • Grants preparation
  • Travel and meeting arrangements
  • Time and attendance
  • Guest scientists agreements
  • General clerical support
    - letters and correspondence
    - word processing
    - updating spreadsheets
    - maintaining databases
    - presentations
    - report generation
    - upkeep of staff calendars
  • Receptionist
  • Office Organization
  • File Management

(support to Group Leader and Staff members, with certain activities extended to include Guest Scientists and visitors)

Activities in support of the Materials Science and Engineering Division include: 

  • Support to one NIST Fellow for all activities listed above
  • Support the Division Chief with the management of Division travel and meeting arrangements
  • Assist the Division Administrative Officer with the Division's financial matters
