- Testing nanotube samples to develop a carbon nanotube reference material

- Investigating interactions between carbon nanotubes and cells to determine toxicity with QCM

-Developed patterned phospholipid bilayers in microchannels for picoliter/femtoliter bioassay applications of biological molecules, including membrane proteins

-Utilized polymerizable phospholipid bilayers as capillary coatings for capillary electrophoresis to minimize protein adsorption and improve separation efficiency

-Experience in fluorescence microscopy, light scattering and separations technologies

-Cultured mammalian cells and harvested proteins from bacterial cells
