Research Interests
- Development of functional biomaterials with tailored/sequential delivery of single or multiple chemical cues (biomolecules, protein, growth factor, DNA) as mimic of natural extracellular matrix for in vitro/in vivo generation of stem cell-based complex tissues
- Understanding the interaction of nanomaterials with biological systems, especially of the interaction of nanomaterials with cell membranes and their toxicity, fate, transport and potential impacts on humans and ecosystems
- The development of nanoparticles that combine different modalities (targeting, imaging, sensing and therapeutic delivery), multifunctional nanoparticles for efficient detection of early-stage tumors and treatment with chemo/genetherapy and/or heat ablation
Research Experience
- Cellular uptake and toxicity of dendritic nanomaterials: an integrated physicochemical and toxicogenomic study
- Development of targeted temperature-sensitive magnetic probes (ferrofluid or liposomes), their in vivo and in vitro biocompatibility and therapeutic efficacy studies for thermo-chemotherapy of cancer
