George Rhoderick

George’s employment at NIST began with the measurement of hydrocarbons methane and propane in gas mixtures and SRMs. This activity evolved into the preparation of gravimetric standards used for the measurement of these same analytes in gas matrices. He has been the project manager for the VOC gas standards program and has developed standards to assist those making measurements in urban and ambient atmospheres. He has developed and certified several multicomponent SRMs containing VOCs and Hydrocarbons. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications describing these activities. George is currently the project manager for the development of hydrogen gas mixtures containing certified amounts of trace species for the Hydrogen Economy. He is also working closely with other scientist from several NMIs in conjunction with the WMO/GAW to develop, certify and provide gas standards of VOCs for their air monitoring programs.
