Make it in America
NIST MEP’S Make it in America Campaign highlights the importance of U.S. manufacturing and honors our country’s manufacturers by showcasing their contributions. Each week, the site features an MEP manufacturer that “Makes it in America”. These firms, from around the country, are developing innovative products, reaching exciting markets, and employing America’s best workers. Since the campaign began, over 120 outstanding companies have been showcased.
MEP centers have also embraced the campaign with state programs. By inviting manufacturers to be part of their online Made in Your State directory, centers enhance their connection to local companies and their role as a bridge between manufacturers and the community. The programs help potential customers find manufacturers; encourage firms to network with each other, sharing ideas and news; and support MEP's promotion of the manufacturing sector by highlighting some of the most promising and exciting manufacturers in each state.
Two years ago, NIST MEP created a Make it in America Exhibit. The exhibit demonstrates the variety of innovative products made by MEP clients from around the country, displaying the dedication, quality, and ingenuity expected from American manufacturers. More than 150 manufacturers donated products to the exhibit from surf paddles and New Balance shoes to parking meters and digital detectors used with mammograms.
